Society Registration and Compliances
Society registration is governed by state government(s), thus the application for society registration must be filed to the specific authority of the state, where the registered office of the society is situated. A Society can be created by a minimum of 7 persons.
The signed Rules & Regulations, as well as Memorandum, has to be filed with the concerned society or registrar of state with a mentioned fee. If the registrar is fulfilled with the society registration application, then they will certify that the society is registered.A minimum of seven people is required to form a society. And these societies are governed by the 'Societies Act, 1860'.1946 Bom. 516), where Bhagwati, J., held that a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, was a legal entity apart from the members constituting it, and it can sue and be sued in its own name.
